Unkempt Druids (Quest)

This quest is closely related to the Winds of Karana quest. In that quest, the normal route is to kill a hermit, but it's also possible to complete two quests for the hermit instead. In completion of these quests, it's reported that the leader of Unkempt Druids, Jale Phlintoes can be made to spawn, but that spawn mechanic does not seem to be implemented on P99. Any further dialog or progress with Jale is assumed impossible on P99.

a hermit is found inside the hut in the southern part of South Karana.

a hermit regards you indifferently -- You could probably win this fight.

If you stand near the chimney and use /target a_hermit you may hail him, his house does not block line of sight.

You say, 'Hail, a hermit'

a hermit says, 'Huh!? Get out of my house before I have my pets devour you!!'

If you were on the Winds of Karana quest, you know he had stolen two music sheets from Vhalen Nostrolo.

You say, 'What sheet'

a hermit says, 'So you seek the two song sheets? If you truly want them, you will help the cause of the Unkempt Druids. Otherwise, you would have to fight me for it. So, which will it be? Will you help the Unkempt Druids or will you fight me?'

You say, 'I will help the unkempt druids'

a hermit says, 'Wise decision. I ask you then, to go to the western plains of Karana. Seek a farmer called Linaya Sowlin. Bring me her heart. A heart for a song sheet. Fitting, don't you think?'

At this point you can perform his subquests related to the alternative route for Winds of Karana.

When you turn in Linaya's heart in regards to that quest, he reportedly remarks:

a hermit says, 'Good work, my friend! I thank you and the Unkempt Druids thank you. Unfortunately I have sold the other song sheet to a traveling bard of the plains. I believe her name was Cordelia. Now be on your way. Unless you plan to join the Unkempt Druids..?'

Factions changed by handing in Linaya's Heart:

Here is where it's speculated that the quest branches and you have an opportunity to trigger Jale Phlintoes to spawn by saying something. However, at indifferent faction, I was unable to find the correct response to spawn Jale. This could be a faction requirement, or I simply didn't guess the right phrase. Some phrases I attempted were:

You say, 'I am interested in joining the Unkempt Druids'

You say, 'I am interested'

You say, 'I wish to join the Unkempt Druids'

You say, 'What Unkempt Druids'

You say, 'I plan to join the Unkempt Druids'

Please confirm that this part does not require higher faction. Otherwise it's reasonably safe to assume this quest is broken or just some gigantic goose chase.

Jale Phlintoes is the founder and leader of the Unkempt Druids (some background is available from Gerael Woodone in Surefall Glades by asking him "Who is Jale Phlintoes?" He mentions a "high bounty as a reward" for his head.
